Nicknamed “The Real Deal”, Evander Holyfield ruled the ring two straight years. He was the undisputed Heavyweight Champion from 1990-1992. He lost the title to Michael Moorer in 1994. In all, Holyfield’s career lasted from 1984 to 2011. He ended his career on a win against Dane Brian Nielsen. Holyfield joined a boxing club at the young age of 7. He maintained a highly active career in boxing from that year onward, even winning several junior competitions. After appearing in the 1984 Summer Olympic games in Los Angeles, he managed to win the bronze medal. Like many boxers, Holyfield’s life inside and outside of the ring has been filled with controversy. This includes a serious doping scandal and a notorious fight with Mike Tyson in which Tyson bit off a chunk of his ear. Outside of fighting, Holyfield’s highly recognizable name and famous career has allowed him to play himself in several television and movie spots. Despite an overall successful career, Holyfield failed to maintain his wealth effectively.
