Fast N’ Loud star Richard Rawlings was not always a star on the hit, fuel-injected Discovery Channel show. The native Texan is equal parts mechanic, entrepreneur, and professional race car driver. As a child, Rawlings attended a large number of auto shows with his father. The high school graduate spent much of his childhood building, modifying and overall tinkering with different cars. Although he never attended college after graduating from high school, he worked several odd jobs before finally opening his own car garage in 2002. The Gas Monkey brand name was born in 2002 when Rawlings opened his first car garage, Gas Monkey Garage. The highly-profitable garage did business internationally. Rawlings later took the name and opened up other businesses, including Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill and a live music venue, Gas Monkey Live. In 2012, after receiving a large amount of notoriety, his shop landed a spot on the Discovery Channel under the title Fast N’ Loud. In his personal life, Rawlings has been married twice, once to a woman whose name has not be disclosed to the public and to his second wife, Suzanne, who he divorced in 2009 but later remarried in 2015.
